Equipping families to make disciples, love God, and love others.

SSBCKIDZ

Welcome to the SSBC Kids Family!

Our Children’s Ministry provides a loving, secure and welcoming environment, which lays the Biblical foundation necessary for children to grow in their relationship with Jesus Christ. Our ministry partners with parents to raise up disciples in the home, preparing the next generation to love God, love others, and fulfill the Great Commission.

AGE GROUPS

We accept 0-1 year olds in our nursery at 9 and 10:15 am. You can leave a bottle, snacks, and nap instructions for our volunteers that are excited to love on your sweet baby!

K5-1st Grade

Our Kindergarteners and first graders enjoy an engaging Bible Study time at 9 am. Teachers lead them through a Bible Story that teaches them to connect that story back to the overarching story of Scripture followed by engaging activities that use their minds and bodies to learn and retain the truths of Scripture!

9 AM - BIBLE STUDY CLASSES
10:15 AM - CHILDREN’S WORSHIP

We are excited to offer our Children’s Worship and Bible Study classes for ages 0 through 5th grade at SSBC! It is our belief that the best place for children to learn about corporate worship, being a part of the church body, and grow in their heart for worship is by watching those acts of our faith being modeled by parents by going to worship as a family in “big church.” When you feel that your child has reached a point of maturity in their own personal development and walk with the Lord, we encourage you to bring them to worship with you. Our Children’s Worship service is open to K-3rd graders, while 4th and 5th graders attend worship with parents.

0-1 Years

1-2 Years

We offer a Bible Study class and play time for our toddlers at 9 am. Children also receive a snack at the end of their Bible Study time. Volunteers switch out at 10:15 am for worship where kiddos will have free play and song time!

2nd & 3rd Grade

Our second and third graders go through an engaging Bible story time at 9 am with additional activities to help the Good News grow and stay in their hearts and minds. Teachers lead them through a Bible Story that teaches them to connect that story back to the overarching story of Scripture.

3-4 Years

We offer a Bible Study class and play time for our pre-k friends at 9 am. Children also receive a snack at the end of their Bible Study time. Volunteers switch out at 10:15 am for worship where kiddos will have free play and song time!

4th & 5th Grade

Fourth and fifth graders are led by our awesome teachers as they go through an rich Bible story time at 9 am. Students are encouraged to participate in additional activities, social time, and games that aide in their retention and comprehension. These stories are taught in a way that helps students connect them to the big picture of Scripture.

CHILDREN’S WORSHIP

Kindergarteners through 3rd graders are invited to our Children’s Worship service at 10:15 am! During this time, our teachers preach through the same passage that adults are studying during the main worship service. Our goal is to prepare children for corporate worship in the next phases of their life. We walk children through basic steps of studying the Bible, understanding context, applying the passage to their lives, and so much more. We have tons of fun, songs, games, and end with worship and reflection time together. We can’t wait to worship with your kiddo!

New here? Save time at check in by pre-registering your children.

When you arrive, you can enter through our main entrance and turn right towards the yellow wall or enter through the Children’s Building doors by the playground. Head for the main desk in our Children’s Welcome Center where you can enter your child’s name at our check in stations and print out a name tag and guardian sticker for your family!

FAQ

  • Great question! If you would like to serve in our children’s department, please fill out the volunteer application at the bottom of this page. We have in person and live trainings for volunteers to attend once applications are approved. Once complete, with a passed background check, you will be added to our volunteer roster and schedule to serve!

  • Our children’s building remains locked and can only be opened with a code to the outer doors. We have a door monitor in place during service times as well. Children receive a name tag and parents get a matching guardian tag that must be given to volunteers in order for children to be dismissed. All of our volunteers undergo safety training prior to serving and all standard fire, tornado, and lockdown safety policies and procedures are in place to protect your children during their time with us.

  • We love our special needs kiddos! When you arrive, please be sure to note these needs on your new family form and ask to speak to with our desk attendant or Children’s coordinator to further explain. Based on your child’s needs, we will put a volunteer in place to help your child. While we do not have a specific special needs program at this time, we do have an all inclusive environment and train our volunteers to the best of our ability to work with special needs children!

  • Absolutely! We do our family and baby dedications in March and October each year. Sign ups are posted on our church app when it gets closer to time.

  • Wonderful news! When you believe your child is ready for baptism, please contact our Children’s Coordinator or one of our elders to schedule a meeting to go over the meaning of baptism and schedule a time during our services to be baptized.
