Pastor Louis Charriere, Prairie Ronde Baptist Church , Prairie Ronde, LA and his wife Jerry will be going on a mission trip to Pallet City in Nuevo Laredo , Mexico . Pallet City is so called because the people who live in that area make their houses out of pallets. The people that live in the “subdivision” use blankets of all kinds to sleep on, cover with and line the “walls” of their pallet homes.
We are collecting old blankets, throws and comforters for Pastor and Mrs. Charriere to take to Nuevo Laredo with them when they go in the fall of this year. They will also use old baby blankets. If you would like to be a part of this mission project, please bring your blankets to the church office. The deadline for turning in these items will be Friday,August 6, 2010. Mrs. Lana Brunet Bell is our contact person and she will be responsible for picking up our blanket offerings.
Thank you ahead of time for participating in this worthwhile endeavor. I personally just can’t imagine living in a house made of pallets. We are so blessed, aren’t we?

THINGS NEEDED: peanut butter and jelly; cream of soup; mac-n-cheese; spaghetti noodles and sauce; rice and dry beans; canned ham, tuna and chicken; canned chili; cornbread mix; potato flakes; powered or canned milk; Ramen noodle soup; breakfast items - Oatmeal canisters, diapers, etc. Please drop off your donations at St. Luke Simpson Church (Country Club Rd.) next door to Trinity Baptist Church or bring to the church and we will see that they get them. Sale Street helps sponsor this ministry.
