Summer is almost over and our children are heading back to school.  Soon, we’ll all be back into the routine of autumn and we’ll wonder where summer went.  We’ll be reminded that for everything there is a season.

Many see this time of year as the end of things.  It is the end of growing season for some.  For others summer vacation has ended.  Still others will see days getting shorter and recreation time will be limited.  Golf clubs and fishing poles will be put away and they will be replaced by football games and hunting season.  It really seems every end brings a beginning.

Our church was recently reminded of the significance of new life as we celebrated baptisms of those who placed faith in Jesus Christ.  Our schedule continues to be filled with activity as people return from vacation.  We hear stories from camps and retreats and family reunions.  So, for the church, the end of summer rings in the beginning of so many things.

There will be no shortage of opportunities to gather and to serve at Sale Street in the coming months.  I hope you will be fed in Bible Study and then I hope you will serve in one of the many areas of our church.  Mostly, I hope you will be continuously renewed and refreshed in Christ.
Whether you are facing an ending or a beginning, please know that Jesus is constant and that His love never fails.  “The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit, be with you all (2 Corinthians 13:14).”
